Cosmic Burst - Large Art Mandala Stone on Stand with Trio of Space Mushrooms

Sometimes I will exhibit some of my work at The Drawing Board, a community art gallery in Wrexham which includes a music studios and offers creative workshops to the public. It's a fantastic little space staging regular art exhibitions. They also display a wide range of local art and craft work.

This Wrexham art gallery opened its doors to the public back in November 2021, displaying a variety of work by local artists. Ran by The Directors, Jacqui Blore, Margaret Forbes and at the time, Bobbi Cockcroft, the gallery is operated as a Not-For-Profit Enterprise. Anyone local can apply to submit art or craft work for show, either as an individual or as part of a group. Final decisions on what work is displayed at each exhibition rests with the Trustees. There are no hanging fees, just a 20% commission payable to the gallery on any artist sales.

I first exhibited back in the February 2022 and was very pleased to have 12 submissions accepted and I have been a regular exhibitor at most of the exhibitions since.

Disco Mandala - Large Art Stone on Stand

All of the above pieces were cast from high density plaster then hand painted using multi-purpose acrylic paint and then sealed with protective varnish and gloss. I make all my crafted items from scratch. There is something magical about the fact of what starts as a powder that is produced from naturally occurring high purity gypsum minerals, turns into this creation of art.
